A 19 year-old man caused a three car collision by fainting while holding his breath as he passed through a tunnel.

Daniel J Calhon, possibly acting on the popular superstition, made the ill-fated decision while driving in Oregon, USA.

Police say that his car, a 1990 Toyota Cammy, drifted towards the other side of the road, hitting another car head on before a pick-up truck crashed into the Cammy.

Calhon has been cited for reckless driving, reckless endangerment and assault. Four people were treated for non-serious injuries.
