Mist and fog will clear this morning.
However, overnight rain will continue to affect many southern and eastern counties for a time and, at same time, showers will begin to move into the west and southwest.
Showers will become heavier and more widespread in the afternoon, with the odd thundery burst possible.
Becoming drier across southern counties in the late afternoon with a clearance extending northwards later.
Highest temperatures 11C to 14C.
Winds will be mostly light southerly – though they will increase gusty around showers.
TONIGHT
Dry for a time tonight with variable cloud. Mist and shallow fog patches too.
Later on in the night, intense heavy thundery rain will move up from the south.
Most of this will affect Munster with high volumes expected, leading to localised flooding.
Lowest temperatures of 3C to 7C, in moderate to fresh southeast breezes.
