Sunday's weather: showery outbreaks with risk of heavy downpours

Today

Saturday's sunshine makes way for a mostly cloudy and wet start to Sunday.

Showery outbreaks of rain extending northwards during the day, reaching Ulster by around lunchtime.

The rain will be heavy at times with the risk of thundery downpours in the evening.

Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees generally but reaching 17 to 20 degrees in north Ulster.

Winds will be moderate to fresh, and easterly in direction.

Tonight

Further outbreaks of showery rain tonight with a continuing risk of heavy thundery downpours, and some spot flooding.

The rain will largely clear northwards overnight.

Mild and humid with lows of 10 to 13 degrees.

Winds will be light variable with mist and fog patches developing.
