It's been a busy week, with plenty of news and opinion about what's going on right here on our doorstep, to a place that we might call home at some stage in the future.
You can spend your Sunday catching up with the best of Newstalk.com, from the likelihood of human life surviving on Mars, to a breakdown of what we can expect in the upcoming budget later this month.
Could we survive on Mars?
In a week when NASA announced that they'd found signs of flowing water on the red planet, Futureproof investigated whether the possibility of human life on Mars was as far-fetched as we might have thought.
With expert opinion from Barry W. Finger of the Paragon Space Development Corporation, award-winning editor Stephen Petranek and former NASA flight controller Marianne Dyson, it seems that the scenario played out in Ridley Scott's new movie The Martian is not that far from reality at all.
The return of Breakfast Roll Man
With news of the government getting ready to inject €42 billion into the economy with a capital spending plan, Vincent Wall assesses where the most likely changes will happen, and who will see the benefit.
He argues that the Greater Dublin Area will see the biggest return, but that we will also witness the return of 'Breakfast Roll Man', which will be music to the ears of garage forecourts around the country.
Bobby Kerr loves Dublin bikes
Bobby Kerr of Down to Business has a confession to make, and he doesn't want George Hook to know about it - he loves Dublin bikes.
While he admits that he could be hopping a taxi around the city and there's still a ways to go before the capital is properly cycle friendly, he's still sold on the idea and uses them to get to and from his daily meetings. Jack Grealish's commercial future
This week the long-running saga of which national team Jack Grealish would decide to play for finally came to an end, as he confirmed that he would be trading the green jersey of Ireland for the Three Lions of England.
The cynical out there speculated it was for "commercial reasons", and one journalist even tweeted that he had been reliably informed that was a crucial part of the decision making process, so we took a look at what the likely outcome would be for the young footballer's bank balance.
The phone call that saved OJ Simpson from himself
It's been 20 years since a jury found former American football player and actor OJ Simpson innocent of the charge of murdering his wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman.
The ensuing car chase in the famous white Bronco and the trial became huge media events that captured the morbid fascination of viewers around the world, but there was another side to the story: LAPD Detective Tom Lange made a vital phone call to Simpson that saved the star from himself.
A number of young Irish players
Still reeling from the Grealish decision, there was a lot of soul searching to be done for fans of Irish football as a result of the perceived lack of players coming through at the top level.
However, when the dust had settled, and with some considered optimism, there are still a few players who can make a big impact for the Boys in Green at some stage in the future, all going well.
A fair budget for all?
With the budget looming on October 13th, Colette Fitzpatrick was joined by Louise Bayliss of SPARK, Consumer editor of Irish Country Living Ciara Leahy and Joe Costello TD to look at what will be addressed in the government's proposals this time around, and will those who really need it actually get a break.
