NAMA says it is 'fully satisfied' that it's sale of loans in Northern Ireland, 'delivered the best possible return that could have been achieved for Irish taxpayers.'

In a statement this evening, the toxic bank has responded to queries over its appointment of investment bank Lazard to advise on the sales of over €4.5bn in assets.

It comes after TD Mick Wallace raised questions over the transparency of the agency's dealings and claimed in the Dáil that the proceeds of one NAMA loan sale for properties in the North had ended up being diverted to an account in the Isle of Man.

The agency says during the sale in June of last year, they made sure that no fee was paid to the preferred bidder Cerberus Capital Management or anyone connected with NAMA.

Wallace claims a sum of £7m had been set aside for a Northern politician.

The Northern assembly's finance committee is to meet to address the issue.

Ulster Unionist Party leader Mike Nesbitt said Deputy Wallace should report what he knows to the Gardai and the PSNI.
