Do you take a photo of your lunch before you eat it? How about your dress for a wedding?

That's no problem. But some people have grown tired of having to see them.

No, they're not talking about social media.

One listener spoke to Lunchtime Live about the relentlessness of people coming up to her and showing her photos of things she simply doesn't care about.

Maria works in retail and is used to giving advice to customers, but she draws the line at strangers showing her photos when she's off the clock.

"People don't realise that they're invading your space, that they're imposing on your time."

"Only last weekend I went into this really lovely little boutique and I'm going through the rails, and this woman stepped out of the fitting room and she says to me: What do you think of that dress?"

"I said: It's lovely, it's really nice."

"Off I went down the end of the shop and had a little look around.  She comes behind me with her phone."

"She proceeded to show me every single pair of shows she had at home."

She said to the woman: "You do know I don't work here?"

To which the woman replied: "Oh yeah, I know."

"If the dress had have looked like a dish cloth on her, I would've told her the truth", said Maria. "Because I've been in retail all my life and I've never lied to anyone about anything that they've worn."

"Relentless"

"She didn't want to know the assistant. She wanted to take up my time."

Maria said that the woman "ruined" her shopping experience and she eventually had to leave the boutique.

"People don't realise that they're invading your space, that they're imposing on your time."

"I work in a really busy busy establishment where there's thousands of people coming at me all day everyday. So when I get that little half hour break, that's my little zen time to sort of wind down."

"Material things"

It's not only photos of clothes Maria is tired of enduring.

"It's photographs of all these material things they've bought for their house or for their gardens."

"Did you see the new stairs I got? Here's the new stairs. Here's a before and after picture of the stairs."

"It's relentless", she said.

Maria said that even colleagues have begun to get on her nerves.

"Colleagues coming up and going: Can I show you the picture I got on Amazon?"

"No, but I know you're going to show it to me."

"The index finger is up. Swipey, swipey, swipey. Tap, tap, tap. There it is."

"I really want to slowly pull the skin off my face with boredom."

She says that the trend of showing people things they've bought has replaced taking selfies.

"I really want to slowly pull the skin off my face with boredom because I'm absolutely not interested in what other people buy for their homes."

"Why are people even taking photographs of everything that they do buy?"

It's become hard to think of new "buzz words" to say in response, said Maria.

Another time when in the stock room at work, a "random colleague" came up to her and showed her photographs of a friend's wedding.

"I don't want to know the bride or the mother of the bride."

"I am sick of it."
