The Irish Coast Guard and the RNLI are reminding the public to be safe if they're heading to the sea to work off the Turkey today.
They've issued a joint safety message for anyone out on the water, or engaged in any activity along the water's edge.
The RNLI'S Area Life Saving Manager, Owen Medland, says it's important to 'stay back - stay high - and stay dry'.
"Our coasts can be hazardous places," he said.
"We want people to enjoy them over the festive season but to take the necessary precautions, know your limits and have a means of calling for help.
"If in doubt, or seeing someone in difficulty, call 112 and ask for the Coast Guard."
