A speed detector van employed by Gardai to ensure road users stick to the speed limit was seen driving dangerously on a road in Donegal over the weekend.
The vehicle is owned by GoSafe - a company that won the €80 million Garda Síochána contract to operate the system of speed camera vans across the country in 2009.
The pictures were taken by a motorist in Donegal with a dashboard-mounted camera over the weekend. Gerard Moyne told Highland Radio that he saw the van “overtaking a moving vehicle on a blind corner on a continuous white line.”
Moyne has since made a complaint to the Gardai in Letterkenny and has expressed his shock to the Shaun Doherty show over witnessing such dangerous driving.
It appears the van broke the speed limit on a number of occasions as well. Both the Gardai and Gosafe are yet to comment on the matter.
