Two west African migrants have been found hidden in a car - one squeezed next to the engine and the other behind the back seat.

Spanish police made the discovery during an inspection at the border between the city of Ceuta and Morocco.

The Mercedes 300 was stopped and searched after officers noticed the licence plate did not match the vehicle, police said.

The migrants were from Conakry in Guinea and showed signs of fatigue and a lack of oxygen.

Police said they detained two Moroccan men who were driving the car.

Hundreds of thousands of migrants have been trying to get to northern Europe as they flee conflict and poverty in the Middle East and Africa.

Hundreds have died this year making the journey by land and sea, many the victims of people traffickers.

Meanwhile police have been trying to restore order at a railway station in the Hungarian capital Budapest, after large numbers of migrants tried to get on trains.

Refugees have been protesting outside, waving tickets and holding banners saying "please help us".
