One of the most famous episodes of The Simpsons ever made depicts the famous family heading to Australia, and the ridiculous stereotypes that they come across in their travels.

From the Prime Minster floating in a lake drinking a can of beer to 'The Boot' that Bart is threatened with for punishment, there are a couple of images that have lived long in the memory and made the episode incredibly famous.

However, it could be immortalised if a petition on change.org has its way, where they're hoping to get 10,000 signatures to have the name of the Australian currency officially changed to "the dollarydoo".

The petition claims that with the Australian economy struggling, an unexpected move is needed to rejuvenate it and this fits the bill, as it "will make millions of people around the world want to get their hands on some Australian currency due to the real life Simpsons reference, driving up the value of the Australian currency".

Specious reasoning aside the petition already has nearly 9,000 signatures (at time of writing) and looks like it may well meet their goal. However, they could come across a problem as it seems the Parliament of Australia does not yet accept petitions in electronic form.

If they manage to get it through somehow, there is only one choice for the quote that should be written across the currency: "There's nothing wrong with the bidet, is there?"
