Officers from Revenue's Customs Service have seized an estimated €60,000 worth of drugs at Shannon Airport.
The drugs, suspected to be cocaine, were found during routine passenger profiling at the airport.
Following positive reactions from Revenue's sniffer dog Ollie, two Irish men aged in their 40s were questioned by Revenue officials.
The two had come off a flight from Spain last Sunday. The drugs were concealed in approximately 100 pellets ingested by the two men.
Both men were arrested by gardaí and and taken to hospital, where the ingested drugs were passed under medical supervision.
Revenue says investigations are on-going.
