Black market cigarettes and tobacco worth more than €18,000 have been seized in west Dublin.

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service raided a shop in Clondalkin under a court warrant.

They confiscated 30,000 cigarettes and 8.3 kilos of tobacco.

A woman was questioned during the operation, and investigations are continuing with a view to prosecution.

The operation was intelligence led.

The brands seized included Lambert & Butler, Mayfair and Magnum.
