Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan has condemned what she's calling the 'frightening' deterioration of human rights in Egypt.
It comes as Dublin-born Ibrahim Halawa spent his one thousandth day in prison without trial since his arrest at a Cairo protest in 2013.
Ms Boylan visited the country last weekend as part of a US led fact-finding mission and says the situation has worsened considerably since her visit last August.

She met a number of human rights activists and relatives of prisoners on her trip and says the figures that they gave her were astounding.
