The Simon Community is urging the public to call on the Taoiseach and Tánaiste to prioritise homelessness.
The charity is calling for immediate measures to stabilise rents to allow people to stay in their homes.
Glenn Gannon spent three and half years on the streets of Dublin - and credits the Simon Community, with whom he now volunteers, for getting back on track.
He says he is horrified that families are becoming homeless.
The Simon Community is asking for the public to get behind their campaign, and write to the Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Tánaiste Joan Burton.

She says there are some measures which could ease the situation in the short-term.
