Over the next three days, Serial producer and presenter Sarah Koenig will be podcasting from Adnan Syed's latest hearing.

Dozens of people stood outside a Baltimore court house yesterday morning, in anticipation for the arrival of Adnan Syed's arrival where a hearing will take place.

Currently, Koenig has podcasted the events of the first day of the hearing (which can be found here), as well as the new photographed evidence from Asia McClain.

It is expected that Syed's defence team will be requesting the judge allow for a new trial, in light of all of the evidence uncovered both by the hit podcast Serial, the first season of which focused on Syed's initial trial, as well as all of the evidence uncovered since then.

In October last year, one of the key witnesses for the state's case against Syed - cell phone expert Abraham Waranowitz - announced that the information he provided in the case may have been unreliable, as he was initially provided with unfinished documentation from which to base his conclusions.

The next month, a Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge ordered that Syed's case will be re-opened, and an investigation into his post-conviction proceedings would be "in the interests of justice for all parties."

When talking to The Baltimore Sun last year, potential witness Asia McClain spoke about letter she sent Syed in jail, claiming to have seen him in a library on the day Lee was killed: "I know that across offices and homes in America, and beyond, people have been discussing Adnan's guilt or innocence. I can only tell you what it is I know. Whether this information means that Adnan is innocent, or deserves a new trial, is a decision for others to make."

The hearing began yesterday will continue until Friday, and it is presently unknown if the judge will announce his ruling on the potential of a new trial immediately or at a later date.
