Gardaí are investigating the death of a 52-year-old man in West Cork yesterday.
The man fell over 20 feet from a cherry picker while working on a farm near Clonakilty at around 1pm.
It is believed he was attempting to fix a roof that had been damaged during Storm Ophelia.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place at Cork University Hospital today.
Health and Safety Authority inspectors attended the scene yesterday and will prepare a report on the accident.
Separately gardaí in Bray are investigating the death of a man in his mid-70s on Saturday afternoon.
It is believed the man fell from a ladder at around 3:30pm on Saturday.
His body was removed to St Columcille’s hospital in Loughlinstown, where a postmortem will take place.
