At a press conference today Mr Storey claimed the PSNI had no evidence when they arrested him as part of their investigation into the murder of Kevin McGuigan.
The murder has led to political turmoil in Stormount where DUP members, who blame the IRA for the death, have refused to power share with Sinn Féin.
Bobby Storey says the police weren't following a specific line of inquiry:
Earlier this week, Storey was released by the PSNI, to which Gerry Adams reacted:
"The unconditional release of Bobby Storey underlines the contrived nature of the current crisis in the political institutions in the North. [...] I want to reiterate my grave concern about the nature in which the murder of two men has been exploited and also at the way the current difficulties have developed in the last few weeks, including the arrest of Bobby Storey."
