The search for a body part will resume in Ardnacrusha, Co. Clare today.
It is after a motorist reported seeing an arm sticking out of the water under a bridge near Ardnacrusha power station at around 4:30pm yesterday.
Kilaloe-based coastguard members are expected to continue their search of land and water this morning.
Yesterday the search was concentrated on a canal near the power station at Ardnacrusha.
Three units of the Limerick City and County Fire Service were dispatched to the scene, along with the Shannon-based Coast Guard rescue helicopter, and seven members of the Kilaloe-based Coast Guard marine rescue service.
