Sean Quinn has said he's outraged by the 'barbaric' attack against a Quinn Industrial Holdings executive.
He also told the Shannonside radio station that he fears that the Quinn family would be blamed for the attack.
QIH director Kevin Lunney suffered what the PSNI described as 'severe and brutal' injuries to his legs, torso and face after he was abducted outside his home in Co Fermanagh at around 6:40pm on Tuesday.
He was found injured in Co Clare several hours later.
A cross-border investigation has been launched into the abduction and assault.
Quinn Industrial Holdings said this is the latest in a string of attacks at or near the homes or businesses of senior staff.
QIH was set up in 2014 to acquire the construction industry supply and packaging businesses of the former Quinn Group, which had been controlled by Sean Quinn and his family.
The firm currently has sites in Dublin, Fermanagh and Cavan.
Speaking to Shannonside, Mr Quinn said he condemns the attack 'totally and absolutely'.
He explained: "My reaction would be the same as anybody else - it would be a sense of outrage.
"It would appear to me to be a fairly barbaric attack... anybody with any sense of any morals would of course condemn that.
"That man has a wife and kid... My family has been on, and they are outraged as well."
He claimed: “[My family have] been on to me [that] we are going to take the flak for this, and that we are being blamed for this, and that some people will look our direction at it."
Mr Quinn noted he's been out of the business for three and a half years, and that he's had no dealings with it since.
He added: "I don't want that to be seen as trying to push it off and only condemning [incidents] partially - I'm condemning it totally and absolutely. I'm just saying that it shouldn't still be linked to Sean Quinn as the man who has to condemn this."
