A court in Belfast has ordered that a 13-year-old boy accused of rioting on July 12th must not go within 100 metres of the scene.

The youth is accused of throwing missiles at police during trouble in Ardoyne.

It is alleged that he travelled from his home outside the city to become involved in the violence.

20 police officers were injured in the clashes.

Trouble started after an Orange Order parade and counter-demonstration by nationalist residents.

Officers came under attack from bottles, petrol bombs and other missiles.

Shots were also fired at police lines.

The schoolboy was charged last month but released on police bail to attend Belfast Youth Court today.
