Saturday's weather: Rainfall warnings remain in place for seven counties

Today

Ulster and parts of north Leinster will be cool and mostly dry today apart from scattered showers. 

Rain will continue elsewhere with heavy falls in places, but some drier periods will develop at times in parts the east. Rain will tend to clear southwards during the evening and early tonight.

Afternoon temperatures of about 7 or 8 degrees in many areas, but 12 or 13 degrees Celsius in Munster. 

Fresh westerly winds this morning in the south but lighter variable winds elsewhere and a northerly breeze developing during the day.

Tonight

Remaining rain clearing early tonight and many places becoming dry with clearing skies but some scattered showers in parts of Ulster, a few wintry on hills.

Becoming breezy with a freshening northerly breeze and overnight lows of 2 to 6 degrees Celsius, some frost in sheltered parts of the North and east.

Rainfall warning for Offaly, Limerick and Tipperary (status yellow)

Rainfall totals of 30 to 40mm expected. Valid until 6pm.

Rainfall warning for Galway, Mayo, Clare and Kerry (status yellow)

Rainfall totals of 40 to 50mm expected, locally higher on hills and mountains. Valid until 6pm.
