Today

Squally heavy showers still around early this morning with the risk of hail and thunder.

Becoming drier as of later this morning with more sunshine breaking through, though well scattered showers will still occur.

Later in the evening more general rain will push up from the southwest.

Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees Celsius.

Recent sustained strong to gale westerly winds will begin to ease, but staying blustery into the early afternoon.

Tonight

Some showery spells of rain moving up across the southern half of the country overnight, with a few coastal showers in the northwest too.

Dry and calm though for a lot of the country but cold, with lows of -1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

Some frost and icy stretches too where skies remain clear.
