The Director-General of RTÉ says he is adamant that RTÉ staff do not tweet their own opinions.

Noel Curran is one of a number of RTÉ representatives appearing before the Oireachtas Communications Committee this morning.

They are there to discuss the report of the Editorial Review into the Frontline Presidential debate.

The broadcaster has issued new guidelines to presenters and staff about using twitter after a number of blunders.

They have been asked not to tweet while in RTE unless it directly relates to the contents of the programme. 

Noel Curran says RTÉ is clear about its policies on twitter.

 Arriving at Leinster House this morning the men did not comment as they went into the Committee.
