The Road Safety Authority is urging motorists to be more aware of children on our roads.
The organisation is making the appeal at the start of the United Nations Global Road Safety Week.
Over the last five years 47 children under the age of 14 have lost their lives on roads on the island of Ireland.

This year organisations across the Republic and North of Ireland have joined forces to raise awareness about the safety of youngsters on our roads.
