The British media usually show some deference to the royal family, choosing not to scandalise them as much as your typical Big Brother contestant.

But not so for Germany's largest tabloid, Bild, who yesterday published a photo of the Duchess of Cambridge’s exposed bum under the title 'Danke fur dieses arschgeile Wochenende' (Thanks for the weekend of great arses).

The photo, taken during a recent visit to Australia, shows Kate exposed after a gust of wind from a helicopter blew up her skirt. It runs alongside similar photos of Khloe and Kim Kardashian, 

It won't be the first row between the continental press and the couple - they pursued legal action against the French magazine Closer after they published topless holiday photos of Kate.

The British papers have been so outraged at the breach of privacy that a number of them have reprinted it (with varying degrees of pixelation.)
