An elderly woman is in hospital after two men broke into her home in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The woman woke at 5.00am to find the two men in her house in Bray, Co Wicklow.

She sustained serious injuries in the incident, and was taken to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment.

It is not clear yet what was taken from the house, and an examination of the scene has been carried out.
