A retired Garda has been arrested in connection with 'immigration irregularities' at a Garda station.
The irregularities are said to have occurred in what was the Western Garda region.
A man in his 60s was arrested by gardaí from the Roscommon / Longford division this morning.

The arrested man was a serving member of the force, but has since retired.
He is being held at a Garda station in the midlands under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The Garda National Immigration Bureau and officials from the Department of Justice are also said to have been involved in the investigation.
