Dublin Bus workers went on strike today as they resist management plans for cost cutting measures that would see the terms of employment for drivers altered to help the company cut costs.
With €12 million to save Dublin Bus has elected to save €7 million by cutting drivers’ pay – a decision which saw SIPTU and the IBRU members vote for industrial action.
The strike brings disruption to the travel plans of almost a quarter of a million commuters across Dublin.
