The new party is set to poach a Fianna Fáil councillor to run for the Dáil.
It is reported that Patrick McKee will tomorrow be unveiled as a Renua candidate for the Carlow-Kilkenny by-election.
Councillor McKee (26) was only elected as a Fianna Fáil councillor 10 months ago, and currently serves as the deputy chairman of Kilkenny County Council.
He is a longtime member of Fianna Fáil, and had shown interest in contesting the by-election for the party - but did not put his name forward for selection.
Declared candidates so far include Mrs Creighton, economist Eddie Hobbs, Jack and Jill foundation co-founder Jonathan Irwin, John Leahy of Offaly County Council and Wicklow TD Billy Timmins.
Mr Timmins will also serve as deputy leader.
Lucinda Creighton officially launched her new party just over two weeks ago, as well as a number of party members and policies.
