The mother of a man who disappeared from County Meath seven months ago has made an emotional appeal, pleading for information to get her child back.

34-year old Willie Maughan and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Anna Varslavane, were last seen between 2 and 3pm on the afternoon of Tuesday 14th April in the Gormanston area.

Launching a new appeal for information, gardaí say they are seriously concerned for their safety, and have followed 250 separate lines of inquiry.

Officers have carried out extensive searches of the land around the area where they went missing, including a nearby quarry, using air support, Garda dog and water units.

Willie’s mother, Helen Maughan, says no parent deserves to go through this, and pleaded for anyone with information to come forward:

His father Joe spoke to Lunchtime about the 'hell' his family has been going through since Willie's disappearance:

Anna - whose full name is Anastasija - is five foot six inches in height, of slim build, with long dark hair.

Willie is five foot eight inches, of athletic build, with a shaved head and green eyes.
