Fine Gael TD Regina Doherty says she is 95 percent ready to give her support to legislation on abortion.

Her comments come after the Oireachtas Committee on Health last week heard the views of a number of groups on the new legislation. 

The Meath East TD, who would have a "pro-life" stance, says any doubts or questions she had on the issue of suicide have now been put to rest follow the hearings.

And Deputy Doherty says she is ready to back the new Bill, describing it as a "worthy" document.
