Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards says she’s finally proud to be a working mother after ‘dealing with a lot of mom guilt’ when her kids were younger.

Speaking to Newstalk’s Screentime this week, the actress and reality TV star said she is really grateful that she has been able to juggle her work and family life.

She also revealed that she took a DNA test and found out she is ‘100% Irish’.

“I’m someone that does well with a lot of stuff going on,” she said.

“I think it is a personality type. What’s the expression? If you want something done give it to someone busy.

“I like to do things myself. Maybe I have a little bit of a control freak in me. But at my house there is a lot – there are kids, all their friends are at my house, I have six dogs and when I’m not filming housewives, I am filming a movie, I’m doing my Amazon Live … I just always have stuff going on and I like that.

“When my kids were younger, I wasn’t able to do that and I had a lot of mom guilt. I think times have changed now and I have changed so I don’t have guilt about working.

“Now I’m happy for my daughters to see me working and doing all of this. Two of them are businesswomen now - the two oldest - and I can already see Sophia and Portia also wanting to be businesswomen.

“So now, I’m happy that I can be a good role model to my daughters.”

Kyle also said she is “extremely worried” about the direction the US is going – noting that at times she finds it hard to pick up her phone due to the doom and gloom on the news.

“I’m seeing these headlines; you know, the shootings on the fourth of July and just going backwards on equality and Roe v Wade, all of this stuff, and I have so much anxiety about what’s happening in the world.

“It feels like once the pandemic started things just kind of went downhill.

“I don’t like to be a Debbie Downer; I like to be a very positive person, but it’s really, really hard times right now. The worst I’ve ever seen in my life and to think I’m raising my four daughters in these times, it pains me, it really does.

“Sometimes I have to put my phone down. I really can’t take it. Some days it is just a lot and you know, it is sad to think about what’s happening in our country.”
