The niece of fashion designer Ralph Lauren has been fined €2,000 for being drunk and abusive on board a flight which was forced to land at Shannon Airport.
Jennifer Lauren (41) was bailed yesterday at Killaloe District Court. She was driven to court this morning in a champagne-coloured Mercedes car.
A charge of unruly behaviour was struck out by the court. But she did plead guilty to the more serious charge of engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour.
The court heard over €40,000 compensation must be paid for the diversion of the flight.

70 passengers who were on-board had to be given two nights accommodation, and 27 others had to be given overnight accommodation as a result of this incident.
Ms. Lauren runs a successful jewellery range in New York.
