The teenage son of celebrity chef Rachel Allen has been remanded in custody until the end of the month after pleading guilty to drugs charges.
19-year old Joshua Allen's barrister said they will try to secure a residential place for him to address his addiction problems by that date.
On the 27th August 2018, Customs officers at the sorting office in Portlaoise intercepted a package addressed to Joshua Allen at the Ballymaloe Cookery School in East Cork.
It contained over €22,600 worth of cannabis.
Gardaí organised a controlled delivery of the package which was received and signed for by the then 18-year-old.
He was arrested and admitted that he had previously received three or four similar deliveries from a woman in California whom he'd met in East Cork.
He also had a small quantity of cocaine worth €60 in his wallet, and he admitted to having a small quantity of cannabis worth €200 at his home in Shanagarry.
The court heard he has no previous convictions, has been volunteering with a homeless charity and is trying to address his addiction.
Judge Sean O'Donnabhain said he was not impressed by the Probation Report, and said he's "knitting his own jumper and I won't let him do that".
He remanded him in custody until November 29th next to allow time to secure a residential place in a treatment centre.
