US singer R Kelly has been arrested on federal sex crime charges in Chicago.
US Attorney spokesman Joseph Fitzpatrick said the 52-year-old was facing 13 new charges – including child pornography, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice.
The singer, whose real name is Robert Kelly, has denied the allegations.
He is already facing 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in the Chicago state court system.
The state charges involve four women – three of whom were minors when the alleged abuse occurred.
Nine of the counts give the victim’s age as between 13 and 16-years-old.
He has pleaded not guilty to those charges and was released on bail.
The singer has faced allegations of abuse over two decades – and in 2009 was acquitted on 14 counts of child pornography.
