Legal editor of the Irish Independent Dearbhail McDonald appeared on the Breakfast Show this morning to explain the process by which Adrian Crevan Mackin was granted bail.
According to The Irish Times, he had been charged with IRA membership at the Special Criminal Court last January, and was released on a number of conditions - including signing on daily at Dundalk garda station.
Legal Editor with The Irish Independent Dearbhail McDonald believes that the paucity of resources are a major issue when it comes to decisions relating to bail, as well as across all sections of the criminal justice system.
Speaking to Newstalk.com's Breakfast Show she highlighted comments the late judge Paul Carney made last year when he raised concerns related to this area, and stated that there "are going to be serious reviews of garda policy" in the wake of this tragedy.
