Police are appealing for information after a teenager (17) was assaulted in the Somerdale Park area of north Belfast this morning.

It happened shortly before midday near Clarendon Pitches.

He sustained an injury to his head after being struck with the chain of a dog lead.

The offender is described as being aged in his late 30s, of medium build, approximately 5ft 10 inches tall with dirty fair cropped hair.

He was wearing a light-green coloured padded jacket and blue jeans.
