Locals in Dingle, Co Kerry are holding a protest this afternoon over the stoppage of upgrade works on the N86 Tralee Road.
Works on the new road came to a halt after An Taisce called for a review of the area along the new road.
The national trust organisation, which works to preserve and protect Ireland's natural and built heritage, is carrying out a judicial review on the decision to grant permission for the new stretch of road from Dingle to Annascaul and Gortbreagoge to Camp.
Organisers of the protest want the review to be blocked and for work to proceed on the N86 road project, which is worth €65m.
