A video of a man proposing to his Irish Rail driver girlfriend as her service arrived in a Dublin train station on Tuesday has gone viral.

Captured by a passerby on the platform, the video shows the man waiting for his now-fiancé's train to pull in to Pearse Street Station.

She parks the train, opens the passenger door and steps out to greet him. It is then that music begins to play over the PA system and he drops to one knee.

"Didn’t think anything could perk me up after a busy 13hr shift, and some Gent goes and PROPOSES to his GF driving the incoming train at Pearse Station," it reads.

With arms full of flowers and crowds forming, we can see the couple embrace as the bride-to-be says yes.

Although the video cuts out before we get a definitive answer from the man’s partner, follow-up pictures posted online show the couple kissing when the man is back on his feet.

The popularity of the video grew to the point that the bride-to-be even came across it, commenting under the original tweet sharing her thanks.

"Thank so much for sharing this moment," Paula Carbó Zea wrote. "I was so surprised and at the same time excited. Thank you every one who was involved to make this moment beautiful and perfect."

Riffing off of this was Irish Rail, who released dashcam footage from inside the vehicle to show Paula's vantage point of the romantic moment.

"Congratulations to Paula, our DART driver and her fiancé Conor on their engagement - and here’s how Paula saw it unfold as she was driving a northbound DART into Pearse!" the company wrote in a tweet.

"Thanks to DART and Pearse Station teams for helping Conor to make it happen!"
