The Taoiseach says the government wants make sure that the amount of revenue that’s collected by the local authorities from property tax is roughly the same.
They also aim to reform the property tax so that all of the money that you pay in your property tax goes to your local authority. At the moment, in the urban local authorities and a few of the wealthier counties, about 20% gets diverted to less well-off counties.
