The British Prime Minister, David Cameron, says he is delighted by a deal that has been reached to regulate the press in the UK.

But he insists the agreement on a royal charter, struck in the early hours of this morning, avoids the need for a law to control newspapers.

His Labour and Liberal Democrat counterparts say there will be statutory underpinning.
