A Health Service Executive (HSE) draft report into the death of Savita Halappanavar at University Hospital Galway is to be considered by her husband and his legal team over the weekend.

The 108-page report was handed over to Mr. Halappanavar's soliticor Gerard O'Donnell earlier today by the Chief Operating Officer of the Galway-Roscommon Hospital Group Tony Canavan.

Praveen will be given the report by this evening and has been invited to make contributions and seek adjustments to the report, should he see fit to do so.

31-year-old Savita died at University Hospital Galway on October 28th 2012 after suffering a miscarriage and contracting septicaemia.

Her husband Praveen has argued that she was denied an abortion.

Report will be brought to Cabinet

The HSE inquiry set up in the wake of her death was tasked with identifying any shortcomings in her care.

Yesterday the Health James Reilly insisted he has yet to see the draft report but says it will be brought to Cabinet once Mr. Halappanavar has had a chance to go through it.

Speaking to Galway Bay FM Mr. O'Donnell says a decision on any response to the report will be made after the draft is considered over the weekend.
