A large section of the Luas Green Line in Dublin is not expected to re-open until tomorrow morning at the earliest.

Since yesterday evening, no services have been running between Balally and Bridesglen and only limited services between Broombridge and Balally.

It comes after a power failure in the Stillorgan area.

Engineers are still working to identify the source of the problem.

Operator Transdev said Luas tickets are being accepted on Dublin bus services.

Spokesperson Ciara Egan said replacement bus services are also running.

“Due to a power failure in the Stillorgan area Luas Green Line services are currently running between Broombridge and Balally only,” she said.

“There is no Luas service between Balally and Bridesglan.

“An alternative coach service is serving affected stops and Dublin Bus is accepting Luas tickets for the duration of the disruption.”

The operator has apologised to passengers for the inconvenience.

Teams are working to get the line back up and running with the company expected to publish an estimated fix time later today.
