A post mortem will be carried out today on the body of a man who was killed in Limerick in the early hours of this morning.
The male pedestrian (44) died after being hit by a car as he crossed the main street in the town of Hospital at around 2:10am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to University Hospital Limerick.

No other persons were injured.
