Two weeks ago we posted a poll asking readers “Are you an early or a late merger?” Who knew it would have caused such a stir. This is clearly a topic that people have considered in the past, and I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks about it.
For the record I am a late merger, I believe in using the road in the way it’s designed. 50.97% of those who voted agree with me. 41% of those who voted said that they merged late, but the answer they chose was “I’m a late merger but I think I’m being cheeky.”
Nobody answered “I don’t care because I don’t drive”, while 14.01% said “I’m an early merger but I’m not concerned about how other people drive”. 19.07% of those polled said “I’m an early merger and I don’t think it’s fair other people won’t queue.”
So that’s it, the votes are counted, and thank you for taking part. No matter what you chose, the most important thing to all of us is that it’s done safely. Consideration for other drivers is important too, especially when it comes to a topic like this.
