Paris police have found an object in a bin “resembling” an explosive belt.
Police found the object in a bin in the suburb of Montrouge earlier today. The find comes ten days after an attack in which 130 people died in the French capital.
An official has told the AP news agency that the belt contained the same bolts and explosives used by the attackers who killed 130 people.
It is reported that key suspect in the Paris attacks, Salah Abdesalam, was in the Montrouge area on the night of the attacks.
The Guardian reports that police are currently analysing the belt to see if it does contain explosives.
Police have been hunting Salah since the November 13 attacks, he is believed to have escaped with the help of two friends from Belgium. The search is part of a broader operation to track down individuals linked to the attack.
