Everyone likes a surprise gift, but there are a few things to consider before sending one. Some of those things include not making it beep suspiciously and not attaching a vaguely threatening note. If you think this is obvious, there might be a job opening for you in Sydney, Australia.

Game developer Ubisoft has apologised for causing a bomb scare after sending a suspicious package containing a copy of their new game 'Watch Dogs' to an Australian news organisation.

A journalist working with Ninemsn received a package containing a small safe with a note attached telling them to "check their voicemail". Calls to other newsrooms provided no information and when staff attempted to open it, the safe began to beep, prompting fears that it may be an explosive device.

The news website describes how police were called and the office was evacuated while the bomb squad investigated. The safe was removed to the basement, where it was opened, revealing a copy of the newly-released video game.

Far from happy with the botched PR stunt, they name neither the game or developer in their article, and state bluntly that "Ninemsn does not cover video games".
