Oscar Pistorius is due to appear in court this morning where he will find out whether he can be bailed.
The Paralympian is charged with murdering his girlfriend.
Prosecutors say they will press a charge of premeditated murder against the 26-year-old Paralympian and Olympic athlete.
But Pistorius' family says police evidence will show there should be no murder charge.
He is expected to give his account of what happened the night his girlfriend was shot dead at his home in Pretoria.
Some more evidence may be given to the judge during the hearing today.
Since the news broke there has been much media speculation about last Thursday's events.
Lawyer Andries Stander says much of it is admissible under South African law because there is no jury system:
Hundreds of journalists, including Sky's special correspondent Alex Crawford, are outside the Pretoria court - which has a capacity of 60.
Meanwhile, Reeva Steenkamp's funeral is due to take place this morning.
The ceremony will be held at a crematorium in Port Elizabeth, where the model's family live.
