Flags were flying at half mast on Sunday to pay respects to Detective Garda Colm Horkan.
This included Government Buildings, other State buildings and GAA grounds.
Detective Horkan, who died on Wednesday night, has been laid to rest following a State funeral in Charlestown, Co Mayo.
