A man has died after being hit by a truck in County Kilkenny.

Gardaí said it happened on the N25 at Glenmore at around 3pm this afternoon.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to Waterford University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The main N25 between Rhu Glenn and New Ross is closed while Gardaí carry out a forensic investigation of the scene.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out.

Gardaí at Thomastown Garda Station are calling for witnesses, particularly drivers who were in the area and may have dash cam footage, to contact them.
